Simple Rules

There are several rules in poker, but to have a fun time and have a general understanding of the game, you only need to know a few of these rules.

Like most games, the aim of poker is to win.

There are many varieties of poker games but they all follow the same basic format:

• Players contribute toward a main 'pot' that contains play chips
• Players are dealt cards which are concealed and this is called a ‘hand’
• Wagers are made in each stage of betting.
• Once the betting rounds are finished, the player with the best hand – or the last player left standing after the others have folded wins that hand !!
