QA Web Tester is responsible for the functional, regression and system testing of CrystalPoker ’s web site and e-commerce section. Individual will work both independently and with the QA team to prepare test plans and test cases, to review testing checklists, and to troubleshoot production issues. He/she must be familiar with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL, and with ActiveX- and Flash online web games.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and execute test cases for CrystalPoker ’s web site, web games, and e-commerce store.
• Find, file, confirm resolution of, and document bugs and defects in web and store sites.
• Ensure the quality, coherence, and look-and-feel of all customer touch points on crystalpoker.net across different web browsers and platforms.
• Assist Team Lead with estimation of testing effort and provide status updates.
• Communicate clearly and proactively with key stakeholders of crystalpoker.net. Keep project manager aware of progress and alert stakeholders of bugs or defects which may impact milestones.
• Provide ownership and accountability for assigned testing.
• Plan and prioritize tasks to meet overall objectives.
• Continuously learn new parts of system and develop required testing skills as necessary.

Qualified candidates will have previous working experience with weekly website releases, CMS tools / data driven sites, custom ecommerce engines, and LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environments.

• Working knowledge of the development, test, release and support processes.
• Working knowledge of developing test plans, debugging/isolating problems and driving them to resolution.
• Must be passionate about finding bugs and contributing to software quality.
• Passion for casual games a plus!

Required Experience:

• At least 3 years of working experience gathering requirements, writing test plans and procedures, tracking errors, documenting results and developing test case scenarios.
• At least 3 years of testing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web design languages.
• At least 3 years of experience testing in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environments. Must be able to write and execute basic MySQL queries, and must be able to understand and write basic PHP scripts.
• Understanding of software testing techniques and methods.
• Testing experience in Web environments is a must.
• A proven track record of supporting, developing or testing commercial software products.
• Experience with testing and quality assurance in a software development environment is strongly preferred.

Education Preferred:

• 4-year degree in Science or Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer, etc.) preferred.

Kernel Developers

This position is based in Houston, TX.

This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in kernel and system software internals, revision control, and qualification of complex software systems. In this position you will be responsible for handling the testing and release process for new kernels and other system software used by dozens of developers. Your activities will include modifying our custom Linux kernel, developing and applying sensitive security-related patches, closely monitoring early deployment, investigating and debugging problems.
